Pre- and in-employment screening
Sound Business Operations and (pre-) employment screening.
Employers frequently devote minimal effort to the hiring process, often overlooking repercussions that can result from a poor hiring decision. Job applications commonly include employment background and educational details. Unfortunately, many applicants tend to overstate capabilities, withhold, or fabricate aspects of their background or previous work experiences. This often leads to unforeseen and unpleasant surprises for employers who later realize they would not have hired the individual if they had been aware of the truth in advance.
According to the Central Bank’s guidelines for Sound Business Operations, regulated entities are required to establish an employment screening policy, which is a component of “Integrity risk management” (typically referred to as Know Your Employee). Employment background screening is a mandatory practice aimed at mitigating risks and has proven to be a successful strategy in reducing the possibility of making a poor hiring decision.
Training
This training session covers the fundamental principles of pre-employment and in-employment screenings. The process of gathering relevant information about a job candidate, including verifying the credentials of individuals who are being considered for access to your databases, sites and information are discussed. This involves confirming the applicant’s identity, nationality, and immigration status, as well as verifying their stated skills and employment history.
During the training, there will be a lot of interaction between the participants. This training is a collaboration between Advance Human Resources and Compliance Services Caribbean. Trainers from both organizations will address their area of expertise.
